Just spent 6 hours straight from check-in until out the door for a new driver license.
9:55 am: checked in, got a number.
1:25 pm: finally got to pay and take the written exam.
4:30 pm: took the driving part. That was about 15 minutes, going down on Bradley and the area.
4:50 pm: got my new driver license.
Yay for 6 hours worth of worthiness! ...... and pinnacle of ridiculousness.
Now the good part:
The people working there are the nicest folks ever, always smiley, courteous. I'd really would have liked to give a 5, but the waiting just kills you. I don't get it why it takes that long, given that these folks are super nice.
Oh, well, "Welcome to Me" to a new Illinois driver's license. Will always remember and cherish my "wonderful" 6 hours of waiting for it.
