  • My husband and I took a road trip over the fourth of the July and stopped in at the Ice Cream Dessert Factory and wound up spending the afternoon - sampling delicious ice cream and visiting with the owners Russ, Lynette, and their son Josh. This the real deal - old fashioned ice cream parlor. What distinguishes this ice cream parlor from the others is the fact the ice cream is the owner's recipes and all the ice cream is made on site at the shop in small batches.. All clean label ingredients and as FRESH as it gets. When you step inside this store you are greeted with a warm welcome and feel right at home and we enjoyed visiting with Russ and Lynette very much. Russ (the owner) is a Food Scientist and graduate of Cal-Poly (seriously ...how cool is that!) and he probably wouldn't have told us except for the fact I was asking lots of questions about the process of making your own ice cream. Great conversation & great ice cream. Ice Cream shakes are a must - my personal favorite the Coffee Mocha - subtle rich creamy delicious. Ice Cream Stuffed Cannoli be still my heart - perfection. Can't wait to find our way back to this fun stop!
