| - The most noticable thing at this hotel is that there was only one ethernet cable in a 2-person bedroom and our co-worker had to come to our room to use it as well since his didn't work (according to him).
Aside from that, they have a food court and shops downstairs, and lots of slot machines and table games. They have a pool as well but it was too cold to go there. Unfortunately, their souvenir shops didn't carry certain take-it-home casino games that one of us was looking for.
The technology in their room is very outdated... their clock is for an iPhone 4! Ha, ha, ha!
Anyway, due to my entire party having entirely different jobs and work schedules, we all ended up having to hog the Ethernet cable due to the lack of wi-fi in a single 2-bedroom room. How was any of us supposed to get any work done? I had already brought a lot of power strips with me to compensate for the lack of outlets, but now I'm also supposed to bring an Ethernet switch? What's next, am I supposed to ask the IT guy at work for a server rack so I have to configure the entire connection manually? The speed of the internet is also extremely slow. None of us were able to get any significant work done and our clouds didn't save or load properly. I know wi-fi is available downstairs, but I couldn't find an outlet. Now I'm supposed to bring my own electricity? The amount of tech I have to prepare to stay here already costs more than the total hotel bill. And we paid a separate fee for it too. (Luckily, I wasn't the one paying the bill, but since I'm staying here, I have to deal with it.)
Additionally, the shower does not drain properly. As a result, I was standing ankle-deep in a vat of my own body byproducts (interpret that as you will, I have a lot of medical conditions) and my prescription drugs that require the use of water. Not to mention that the person that wanted to shower after me had taken notice of the leavings in there since it hadn't drained yet and wondered what was wrong with me. I don't remember this happening the last time some of us came here, so what happened to the showers between this time?
Aside from those two problems, the beds are fine, the toilets are fine, the doors are fine, the sink is fine (luckily, it drains properly as opposed to the shower), the mirror is fine, the chairs are fine, the elevators are fine, and the window is fine. I just cannot get any work done with everyone wanting the line and I'm not sure how clean my feet are.
In conclusion, this is no Courtyard Marriott, and after telling my boss about this (he's not happy about the reduced amount of work I did due to the internet issue), he definitely doesn't want to stay here for CES since he still needs to work while at the trade show, so one shouldn't come here if they have to work at the same time. Also, I'm really grossed out by repeatedly standing in my body byproducts every day when I take a shower. If I wanted to do that intentionally, I would take a shower in the toilet. Blech. I used to like this hotel, but something must have changed over the years. I hope it gets better again... hopefully by the time it's summer so I can try the pool out. We always talk about going to the pool but we can't in the winter!
