I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally had a chance yesterday. Because of 4.5 yelp rating, I was so excited and had certain expectations. Unfortunately all food was a total disappointment.
Furikake Chicken: WAY TOO sweet. Too much batter. Couldn't eat more than 3 pieces.
Furikake shrimp: Overcooked, dry, salty. Ate only one piece
Kalbi short rib: ALL BURNT! After cutting out burnt parts, not much meat left to eat. It was bland and lacked flavor, but I thought bland is rather better than too sweet or salty..
Chicken katsu: Dry and not so crispy. Katsu dipping sauce is too thick and salty.
Spam musubi: I didn't try so no comment on food but when my husband ordered, he had asked if they have teriyaki musubi as that is our son's favorite. They said they don't but they can give us teriyaki sauce on the side. My husband said ok and surprisingly, we were charged $1.75 for the teriyaki sauce. And btw the sauce was WAY TOO sweet and salty, even my 8 year old son didn't like it..
Plus this place is more expensive than other Hawaiian restaurants. I don't mind paying a dollar or two more per dish as long as food tastes good but too bad we didn't enjoy any dish. =(
