  • So we purchased a washer from Sears a little over a year ago and also got the protection plan with it. A few weeks ago the "LF" error code displayed. Basically, the cold water wasn't filling into the washer. Called Sears since we paid for their useless protection plan and scheduled an appointment for the next week. They gave us a window of when they would be coming to our house and at the last minute, we got a call from them saying that they had to reschedule for tomorrow. We were frustrated but agreed since we needed it fixed and have already gone a week without doing laundry. Guess what happened the next day? They cancelled on us again!! This time, I received an email saying that we had to call Sears to reschedule. When I called, they told me that their ONE repair guy was sick and couldn't come out until next week. Seriously?? They only have one person who can fix appliances?? After some argument, I told them that I would be finding another company to repair it. Lesson learned, I'm NEVER buying from Sears again!! Anyway, I called around to several different appliance repair companies and Mr. Appliance was the only one who could come out the soonest. The employee that I spoke with over the phone was nice, explained everything and answered my questions. The day before, they sent me an email letting me know the 2 hour appointment window and the name of the service technician. On the day of my appointment, he called 15 minutes prior to let me know that he was on his way. The technician took the time to check a few things with the washer and told us that the cold water valve had to be replaced. Unfortunately, the part had to be ordered and they would have to return in 3 days to do the repair. We were already going on 2 weeks without our washer working, but that was because of Sears. I also figured that even if I called another company, they would also have to order the part as well so it was better to just stick with these guys. As promised, they did come back 3 days later and our washer was finally fixed! Yay!! The technician made sure that the cold water was filling into the washer before he left and did a great job. My only complaint is that our first technician told us that our follow up repair appointment would be between 8am-12pm, but when I received the email the day before, the window ended up being between 3pm-5pm. Luckily, we were home that day so it was no big deal, but they really need to be more organized with their scheduling if they want to avoid upsetting their customers. Thank you to our technicians - Nicolas and Christopher for doing a good job! Highly recommended and would definitely call these guys again in the future.
