  • I came here with my family, as it was one of the few places we could find that catered to both carnivores and vegans. Our server - let's call him Alex - was a little odd. First he introduced himself and took our drink orders. He came back with our drinks a few minutes later and asked us if we were ready to order. We were ready to order, but before waiting for our answer he turned to my father and started talking to him about the baseball game playing on the television. My parents don't speak very good English and it was obvious that my father wasn't able to follow what Alex was saying. Alex seemed to suddenly realize this, and then inexplicably walked away without saying anything. We were confused, to say the least. He came back ten minutes later and introduced himself...again. He took our orders. I ordered the full order of seitan wings with vegan barbecue sauce with some vegan shoestring fries. My brother ordered a sandwich. My parents ordered something or other - I can't remember. A while later, he appeared with our food. He put down a small plate of cubed seitan in front of me. He then asked, "You ordered the half order right?" I said no, I ordered the full order. He said, "Crap, I'll be right back with your full order." He came back shortly with a second plate. I noticed that everyone but me had a little plastic cup filled with sauce. There was a pitiful amount of drizzled hot sauce on my seitan blocks. I reminded Alex that I had ordered barbecue sauce and asked him to bring me a cup of it. He said, "No, you ordered hot sauce. I KNOW you ordered hot sauce. I would have remembered if you ordered barbecue sauce. Do you want to add barbecue sauce as well?" I insisted that no, I'd ordered barbecue sauce and he insisted that no, I hadn't, I'd ordered hot sauce. I didn't want to ruin what was supposed to be a pleasant evening out with my family so I let it go. I was extremely annoyed. Borderline furious. He came back later on to check on us and asked us where we were from. We could see that he had no idea that it existed, nor that he cared. He said, "Oh, I was wondering why you didn't understand the baseball thing," and then immediately left again at a half-trot. Soooooo weird. My brother noticed that his "sandwich" lacked a piece of bread. Last I heard, two slices of bread are the required criteria for a sandwich. My family members' meals were so-so. My vegan seitan wings were actually really good and tasted exactly how I remembered chicken wings to taste like. However, the hot sauce which I hadn't ordered or wanted gave me an upset stomach. I was definitely peeved. The atmosphere was great. You can eat outside or inside. It was too humid to eat outside so we chose inside. It's set up like an old mechanic's shop, which I'm assuming it used to be. Real cool set up. There's only one huge TV instead of a thousand small ones, and normally with a more professional/attentive server and food served the way I'd ordered it, I'm sure I would have had a great time. I wouldn't really recommend this place if you have other options available. We all left dissatisfied with the food and service.
