| - This is a beautiful hotel, one take away I have is the gorgeous flowery aroma that envelops you once you walk into the lobby. I don't know if it's some perfume that they incorporate into the ventilation system but this place smells nice without overwhelming the senses.
Service was good but not the best I've ever encountered. When I was checking in, the person at the front desk could not answer what the sales tax was. She looked completely caught off guard and didn't even bother to ask a colleague for that simple request. Her only response was "I don't know, I am from Texas." Huh, but don't you work/live here now? She wasn't being mean, just a bit clueless for such a nice hotel.
I stayed in the bella suite with 2 queen beds on the 32nd floor but was facing the back of the hotel so no view of the Strip for me. I paid $189 before tax. There is a $20 per night resort fee. I think the resort fees are stupid - either include it in the quoted price or get rid of it. I didn't think the "services" validated the $20 per night especially when my free wi-fi that should have been provided in my room didn't exist. So I called front desk and told them to waive the resort fee and they did.
The rooms here are extremely spacious! It's probably the biggest room I've ever stayed in - I think it's larger than some people's apartments! This is the type of room where 4 people can stay in comfortably.
As for transportation, plan to walk in Vegas, but if you want to take the monorail, I'd book another hotel instead of the Palazzo. Preferably book a hotel that has a monorail station behind the hotel you're staying at. You have to walk through the Palazzo, then the Venetian, then outside around the corner, across some street to get to the Harrah's parking structure, then through Harrah's casino, then up the escalators after starbucks and then you have to walk further to get to the monorail station. Um, no thanks unless you have comfy shoes
Pros:
- spacious "luxury suite"
- bathroom is very large; tub, stand up shower, double sinks, additional vanity area and includes a toilet that's housed in a separate small room
- bed and pillows were comfortable
- good airflow and room temperature
- 3 TVs - living room, in front of the bed and in the bathroom
- Walgreens is really close by, same goes for the Fashion Show Mall (10 min walk or less).
Cons:
- the $20 daily resort fees are in and above your quoted rate. the fees include: access to the gym in the Canyon Ranch SpaClub for up to two guests, free wi-fi in your room, unlimited local and toll free calls, newspaper, free boarding pass printing, one free regular coffee at Cafe Press and some 2 for 1 drink at some of their lounges. Um...rip off! there's lots of free wifi around the area so save your money and try to talk your way out of it.
- room wasn't as clean as it should be...nothing terrible but stains here and there that should have been wiped
- pricey and not very good restaurants attached to this hotel
- no complimentary coffee/tea/water in the room
- not close to monorail
- TV quality was medicore and channel selection was below average. No Food Network?
