  • I've had mixed experiences with Dr. Lalani himself. Sometimes he's really nice and helpful, and sometimes he just isn't, and doesn't seem to know what's going on. I did have a negative experience with him believing I could be lactating during the radioactive iodine treatment I needed for thyroid cancer, which was definitely not true, but we got it cleared up (partially thanks to Leanne, who I'll write about below) so it turned out alright. Overall I think he's knowledgable and a good doctor, but just doesn't have the best bedside manner. On the other hand, Leanne, the nurse practitioner I usually see when I go in, is WONDERFUL. She always takes her time with me, makes sure I get all my questions answered, and I feel like she really cares about me. Like I mentioned earlier, I had a little mixup with when I needed to wean my baby before a treatment and she listened to my concerns, did some research, found that Dr. Lalani's instructions weren't right, and made sure we did things correctly. I also really appreciate that she gave me the direct number to her medical assistant if I have questions or need help with anything, because like others have said it can be hard to get through to the front office. So far it's been manageable, but I do always try to get everything scheduled for future appointments in person so I don't have to mess with it. Overall, the office could be a little better/more efficient, but I've been happy with this practice for the most part. I've never had to wait long and having a lab on site is very convenient. I'm also SO glad that they are patient with me needing to bring my two kids with me to appointments! :) It seems like it's hard to find decent endocrinologists around here and I think this is a good option.
