| - GRAZIE! BRAVO! you guys kicked this 1 out of the park! i'm talking about the new year's eve dinner they had. 5 course meal for $60. we've been for other dinners as well as their normal menu, but this was FANTASTIC!
1st, we got our fav waitress sophia! hey girl! the entire team was working quick & as a team, each helping the other. as fast as they were working, so was the kitchen. the courses came at a nice pace.
there was a vegan menu, but we're both meaties! they did get 3 courses the same as us. the 2 changed courses were chickpea ragu & panisse, &tomato tagliatelle with king trumpets.
so, the 1st course was a porcini "cappuccino" with tomato biscotti & olive oil. it came in a cappuccino cup with foam on top. it played with my mind. it looked like coffee, but tasted oh so different! even after a few sips, it still got me! it was a very 'shroomy" tasting soup. 4 stars!
course 2 was an endive & pear salad with caramelized carrots, gorgonzola & pistachio. a salad, big deal! no! it was an awesome salad! i'm trying to make the caramelized carrots at home! 4 stars!
course 3 was braised beef cheeks with cippollini onions, parsip panna cotta, sourdough with fig demi. this NEEDS to be on the menu!!! the meat was so soft, you didn't need a knife. the panna cotta. it was like "buttah"! it was like silk. we wanted to lick the plate clean! 4 stars!
course 4 was squid ink tagliatelle with lobster, cauliflower, wild mushrooms & saffron oil. what can I say but yum! perfect! 4 stars!
& finally, course 5 was a warm spice bread pudding with fig jam, honey, pistachio & goat cheese. O.M.G.!!! i'd bathe in this stuff! a lot of bread puddings are dry. not this! it was so moist. the cool thing was that they froze the goat cheese in sticks! it went with the pudding so well. oh, & a glass of prosecco from the house!
if you never go any other time, try to make sure you hear about the new year's eve menu at piccolo forno, & GO!
