  • Our pediatrician referred us to Cranial Technologies for our son, who had a flat spot on the left side of his head. Everything started off fine, but soon after being fitted with our DocBand, we noticed a red spot on his head that would not go away. Our therapist adjusted the helmet and it kept getting worse & worse even though she would constantly "carve out room in the helmet to prevent rubbing." Eventually, the red spot turned into a bump and I knew at that point we needed to discontinue the DocBand. Our therapist claimed she had "never seen anything like this and it was not caused by the band" even though our pediatrician says it certainly was caused by the band, and once we stopped using the helmet, the bump went away. I felt like this response was deceptive, inaccurate, and unprofessional. I'm thankful for the small change the helmet made in the amount of time our son wore it, but I'm not happy that I'm still paying for a helmet that is sitting on our counter because we are unable to use it due to our therapist not fitting it correctly.
