  • I honestly wanted to like Soma, because it seems like a nice dance club away from the regular campus crowd but I can only give 2 stars. The atmosphere is cool and hip, and the set up is all right. You have to pass through this weird hallway of gawking people to get to the dance floor, but that's not so bad. The floor itself is pretty small. The music is pretty good actually, lots of variety. The drinks are extremely expensive for a Champaign bar, and for the price are neither strong nor taste very good. The bartenders look bored out of their minds. The crowd was middle aged men both times I've gone, and they have been all sorts of creepy. Not my favorite place by any means.
