  • Prior to going to Oakeson I had experienced an extensive rehab effort years prior by what I call the 'big box PT chain' in Phoenix. As a result I had my own bias in having to seek physical therapy assistance again after a full shoulder replacement. Then I was recommended by a coworker to Oakeson Physical Therapy and specifically to Ian Hover who has vast skills and knowledge in rehabing orthopedic injuries. My first impression when I walked through the door at Oakeson was a good one. The ladies on the front desk are friendly and personable, and the facility is new and is nicely presented with equipment in excellent repair. In the 12 weeks of going there 2-3 times a week Oakeson never missed a beat. Ian Hover one of three licensed physical therapists worked with me on each occasion. I never experienced any of the typical services you get from the big PT chain - Ian devoted his entire time and attention to me for each appointment from the time I warmed up to the time I cooled down - always walking me through various exercises and procedures and freely sharing information on the mechanics of the arm. Ian was always thorough and provided detailed in-depth information and understanding of what was going on with my shoulder rehab. The way Oakeson schedules their patients offers maximum consideration to your time - you do not find yourself with any down time while your therapist is off working with another patient in your time slot. I found that Ian has a wide range of skills, was never intimidating, always caring and concerned and even though I have been out of rehab now for 7 weeks, Ian continues to call and check in with me and see how I am doing. He has become a wonderful cheerleader and continues to encourage me every step of the way in my recovery. He is a true PT professional! During the three months that I went to Oakeson I was also able to see that Bob and Lisa work in much the same way with their patients, always providing an outstanding level of care, skill and compassion. From every angle, it appears that this is the Oakeson philosophy and it's a really refreshing one. I am so grateful that I was referred to Ian and Oakeson Physical Therapy as together they have made all the difference in a very long journey to recovery after a chronic shoulder injury. I would wholeheartedly recommend Oakeson Physical Therapy.
