  • So I've never been motivated enough to write a Yelp review... but my experience at this place made me want to create an account and write one. I purchased two seats at a Chicken & Waffles flash course and was really looking forward to the experience. I purchased these for myself and my girlfriend for our 6 month anniversary present. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a very rude and sarcastic employee. The front desk worker sounded and acted like he did not want to be there and made no effort to make us feel welcome while waiting for our class to start. Additionally, there was a strange odor coming from the kitchen that made things even more unpleasant. While we were waiting out front, some mechanical worker came out and said "Well, don't know what it is but I can't find the source..." (in reference to the smell that was quite apparent). Already 5 minutes into out time there, and things are off to a pretty rough start... Once the class began, the instructor introduced himself and seemed to be energetic and knowledgeable. As he began to explain how we were going to be prepping our food, he mentions the lack of multiple waffle irons and having only one pot of oil to deep fry our chicken. Furthermore, the whole organization of materials, working spaces, and utensils was extremely unorganized as students were left to themselves to figure out where multiple tools were. The whole experience was simply a hot mess and it was painful just to even be there. My girlfriend and I were having a pretty bad time, along with the rest of the class as many of them looked pissed. Oh, and there was one guy in the class that walked in drinking a beer and was very annoying/arrogant during the entire class. He made multiple comments towards students of the class giving them tips on how to prep/cook/plate that made absolutely no sense... While our food turned out to be quite tasty, the whole experience was awkward, painful, and not enjoyable. To top it off, we had not been given our two glasses of wine we paid for ($10 extra per person) until we asked at the end of the class, which by the way had already gone 30+ minutes past the originally scheduled length. When we asked for our wine we had paid for, the instructor paused, did a funky little truffle shuffle, and said "Are you serious?!?!" Half the class had paid for the wine add-on, but we ended up calling him out on not serving us at the end. The instructor begrudgingly found a bottle to open and we proceeded to serve ourselves. We paid for the wine with our meal and the instructor made us feel like total asses for asking for it. The whole experience was $150 and I completely regret spending every penny. It was awful, and I would NOT recommend anyone going here. You're better off taking your money to a nice restaurant where you don't have to suffer through the crazy unorganized and unpleasant experience that this place provides. I went home having felt cheated out of my money and it was better served elsewhere. Totally want a refund...
