  • Be Careful if Price increases and not honoring reservation pricing. Reserved rental car July 2017. Total with tax around $50 that is suppose to be due at the counter for 1/2018 2 day rental. Guy at counter states this is the car your getting and charges $100.00 per day for rental. Total rental coming to over $300.00. What happened to my $15 per day rental that I reserved? Guy at counter kept distracting me with side conversations. I picked up the car and pulled over to side of the road and called their corporate office to complain. They sent me to Vegas branch manager Fran, who adjusted price. But upon returning the car the adjustment was still $60 more than what I should be paying for at $172.00. Had to go to Dollar rental where they were able to help with the correct adjustment, as I did not want to deal with Thrifty Car Rental and their incompetence, bate and switch deal. Dollar was great and they stated I don't know what they (at Thrifty) did. Car return was easy and Guy was helpful and price adjustment was able to be done correctly at Dollar without going thru Thrifty. Be careful of the bate and switch. Be careful of them trying to distract you and rush you so they can increase the pricing without you realizing it. I always buy the damage and waiver extra $27 per day it's worth not to be hassled with any dings or scratches that happens to the car upon return. Only thing is when your at the counter they sell it as packages and doesn't tell you upfront you can get it separate unless you ask. So be careful on that if you opt to get the extra coverage that you can get it separately and not in the package.
