  • We just got back from Westworld's Splatter Ranch location off of Jomax and Scottsdale road. This is an outdoor paintball arena. I was not looking forward to being outside all day in the heat, but they provide ample shade, a mister system, a nice soak with a hose if you want it, and early summer hours to beat the heat. We spent an entire day there with three people brand new to paintball and one person who had never done it in an arena setting before. So, I can't compare it to other paintball places. I can say this though; we had an amazing time! The people who worked there were incredibly nice and helpful, the refs were fair, and they are huge on safety. All guns were periodically checked to make sure they were set to their standards, there was a safety intro video and safe play was enforced, and the price for a rental and paint for the day was fair. In the afternoon we saw quite a few kids. They require kids to be 10 and up with a parent's permission. They also have web cams on the field so your friends back home can watch you getting your booty kicked and laugh at you. Or, you can watch people on the field while you take a break. They DO require you to buy their paint, so you can't bring outside paint in. However, you can bring your own food, so that helps if you are trying to keep your costs down.. They have food available there for a reasonable price as well. They have different special events, and we were out today for a Walking Dead scenario event (4 events and free play at the end) and I will definitely consider going back, even though we live in Queen Creek! The staff made my first paintball experience an awesome one. I can't wait to do it again.
