  • My first dentist since I moved here, Dr. Guffey at Mountain View Family Dentistry. Choose him because of ratings on Yelp and Angie's, and they're on my dental plan's list of providers. The office is clean, the staff are professional, pleasant, and extremely helpful. Dental cleaning and X-rays went smoothly back 4-5 months ago. I had an emergency (broken tooth) over this past weekend. They worked me in on a Saturday that already had a full schedule (but, my usual dentist wasn't available). It ended up that the tooth wasn't broken; a part of the porcelain veneer on my bridge had chipped away. The dentist smoothed it down. The dentist briefly discussed two treatment options for bridge replacement. The office gave me a clearly written, 4-page, breakdown of what my dental plan would pay, and what my out of pocket expense would be for each of the two options. I went home & shopped for an additional dental plan...they're all similar, mine ended up having the better fee schedule payment. I must have called Dr. Guffey's office with dental plan questions at least 5 times. Each time they helped me weigh the pros and cons of various plans. I had medical questions & Dr Guffey called me back and answered them. He suggested I return to the office. Again, they worked me in that day. I'm glad I went in. Dr. Guffey took a photo of the area, I could see what was happening. Dr. Guffey discussed the two treatment options, including the financial costs, considered my age, my medical condition, my history with the current bridge, etc. I never felt hurried even though I was a "work-in" on the schedule; he had time for me. I've been in their office three times now (two for the emergency, one for cleaning). I am seen on time, the atmosphere is calm, the staff & dentist's listen, and care. When it is time, I plan to have Dr. Guffey replace the bridge. In the meantime, I will continue to see Dr. Guffey for my dental needs.
