| - The staff was pleasant and friendly, the "water park" was just enough for our four kids (ages 4,6,7,8). It's nice to feel as if you're actually on vacation even though you're essentially downtown. We reside in Arizona so this was a decent stay-cation. Having the park right outside our Villa was pleasant and the children enjoyed seeing it from the balconies. The poolside food, while exorbitantly priced, was quick and made everyone happy. It is a resort, you have to expect the high prices.
The rooms were spacious; even if the decor was dated. I agree with many others, they need a major overhaul and deep cleaning.
For the downside that will probably prevent us from returning. The first day we arrived, walked into our room and a cockroach was in the master suit. I only wish I had taken a picture. It was 3 inches or so long. Called the person in charge of room service and she sort of laughed about it, but sent someone to spray quickly. Brushing that off, we went to the pools and spent a few hours out. Came back to shower and get ready for dinner, the shower in the master didn't work. I was done after that. $600 a night for a Villa; I shouldn't have ANY issues. I went to the front desk requested the manager. He listened to my complaints and was generally respectable and hospitable to me. He waived the resort fees and gave us a meal voucher, while sending someone to fix the shower right away. We haven't had any issues since.
While we had the rooms booked through Saturday, we decided that is far to long and are leaving Friday. Two days is plenty.
Yes, it is insanely expensive; but it is a resort. You are paying for the resort style stay. It is not the hotel down the street with a tiny pool out back.
