  • I would avoid it for kids under 7 or 8. First, it's pretty dang expensive. 4 of us (2 adults, 5yr old and 2yr old) was $50, and that is just the 'base admission'. Any of the special exhibits were $8-12 PER person PER exhibit. You could spend hundreds here. Second, getting around with kids and a stroller is a nightmare. STAIRS everywhere. We found one elevator on the ground floor that took us to a landing with stairs going up or down. What? One other small slow elevator that required a 20 minute wait in line to get into and out of, and everywhere you go is 6 stairs up or 6 stairs down. Not a problem with older kids I guess, but the stairs are stupid and pointless, just architectural complexity for no reason. The cafeteria has only 8 round tables, and is CASH only! Third, the displays. Some stuff looks interesting like the sky bike or some big kid climbing exhibits for pulleys and leverage, but it's geared for 10+yr olds. Right when we walk in, there's a whole "brain" exhibit but it's mostly video displays on *cocaine*, *addiction*, *sex addiction* , and some video of a teenager in juvie outfit talking about how drugs ruined his life. Really not what I would want to pay $$$ for my kindergarten aged kids. The area outside the center (heritage square) is beautiful and the kids science museum across the street is fantastic. I will admit this was maybe a mistake thinking it was for younger kids, but they have kids pricing and kids type advertising.
