  • What better way to fly to Vegas to celebrate our 1 year anniversary?! NOTHING! The hubs and I flew our happy ass's to Vegas for the weekend and decided to forgo our normal stay at Excalibur (let's face it, it's cheap AF) and opted for a little more class - so to the Monte Carlo we went! Here are the takeaways: STAFF: Super friendly, but ridiculously understaffed. We checked in on a Friday night, stood in a line wrapping around the entire lobby to check in! A mere four people manned the front desk and the online check in kiosks were off. Thankfully - after about 30 minutes in line we were greeted and welcomed to Las Vegas! Originally we had booked a strip room view, and were offered a "free" upgrade to a nicer room on a higher floor. I made sure to ask the attendant if there was an additional charge, she said "no, on us!". Until we saw the bill - which had an up charge of $35. Other than that, staff was friendly, accommodating, and made sure our room was cleaned each day! ROOMS: Our suite was spacious featured a large king bed, window overlooking the Aria and 2 bathrooms - which is more than i have in my apartment! The space was arranged nicely with a large couch, bar area and a little dining area - which totally made the space! Although it had some dust, it wasn't a big deal :) PRICES/LOCATION/VIBE: For 3 nights it wasn't too bad on our wallet and cost us just around $450. The location is perfection, as it's not quite at the end of the strip, but more in the middle - which makes it easier to walk to various casinos and restaurants! Because it's located next to New York, New York - there are plenty of options available!! Vibe is relaxed, yet fun. Everyone here seemed to be enjoying themselves! Not too bad for Vegas! **Pro Tip: A food court is located in the back of the casino, making grab and go meals - easy peasy!
