I went to this establishment tonight with two friends to hang out and watch the final night of the DNC with Hillary's acceptance speech. I was sitting at a table with one of my friends watching the speech when all of a sudden a middle-aged man approaches, takes my plastic cup and my friend's, and tells both of us we can't be there if we don't consume or buy anything. We nodded that we heard him, and he acted as if he were leaving. Then he turned back to us and said we couldn't be there, implicitly saying we needed to get out! I collected my second friend and we left. I have NEVER been treated like this in my entire life by someone I assume was the proprietor of a business. We were simply sitting minding our own business and were basically ejected from the bar. My friend sitting with me was African-American; I don't know if that was part of the reason we were targeted. Moreover, earlier that evening I spent over $13 on two drinks. I didn't go around to every person in the bar to confirm he/she had purchased something to be able to rest easy they wouldn't be thrown out, but I doubt we were the only ones simply sitting later without drinking. I will be writing about my experience on multiple websites to spread the word on the despicable manner in which my friend and I were treated.
