rev:text	WARNING! WARNING!! BEWARE OF THIS HOTEL!!! I stayed the Monday before Christmas.The room wasn't terrible. Hot tub sucked. Continental food was mediocre at best. All of that could have been forgiven if these sleazy folks hadn't charged me with 3 times the amount of my room through illegitimate charges followed by outrageous claims and lots of lies. The only way I received reparations for these counterfeit charges was through IHG and the Better Business Bureau. And STILL they continued to make excuse after excuse and cover up after cover up. Through the entire process the hotel employees were rude- even to the third parties involved. When I called to reserve a room, I was told I could pay in cash. When I arrived I was told I had to leave to go put more money in my bank acct. this was frustrating because of my explicit conversation over the phone but I did it anyway and came back for the night. No one expressed that the ENTIRE AMOUNT of the room would be taken from my acct for over a week..... they charged my acct at THREE AM and dropped off a receipt under my door. When I checked out and paid in cash- no mention was made of my card being charged. As I had had MULTIPLE conversations with staff about my cash payment, I never imagined the entire room would be charged to my acct. this isn't even the WORST part. They continued to charge me a smoking fee without EVER approaching me through the entire stay with any concerns (because they are full of it- and I bet you can guess what "it" stands for). The manager even went as far as to claim that a "smoke detecting dog" detected smoke from the room.... without any intention, motivation or even ability to prove this or provide any reports as to why I was being charged a smoking fee. THEN she claimed the room could be smelled from down the hall- getting more and more upset and rude with each request for the paperwork... which- if someone was about to legitimately charge $250 to your acct they would probably cover themselves with a little piece of paperwork. But instead, they illegitimately charged $100 to my acct??? I DID NOT smoke in the room AT ALL. Smoking rooms are available for smokers... DUH! They even went as far as to claim to the Better Business Bureau that they saw SOME ONE smoke outside????? .......how this applies to a smoking fee to my ROOM is beyond me...... So basically, I had to spend every day until Christmas Eve on the phone and on my email to correct this situation and still didn't receive all of my money back until after the holiday. ("Happy Holidays from the Scumbridge Suites") Good luck staying here if you take the chance. I strongly advise against it.
