The clutch on my Mazda 3 was slipping badly and I knew it would need to be replaced. The car had 152k miles on it and the clutch had been slowly degrading for awhile. Within an hour Brian confirmed my diagnosis, which I did not coach him on. They installed a new clutch and I had the car back in no time. A week later I got a follow up call from Brian asking how the car was running. Nice touch. The clutch has been working perfectly.
It's now been a month and the car is still running fine. Cost of clutch parts was reasonable compared to my research. The labor rate was in between the dealer's $120/hour and cheaper garage's $80/hour. So not the least expensive but also not the most expensive. Labor time charged for replacing a clutch was within estimates for other clutch replacements. In summary,
Labor rate = slightly above average
Labor time = slightly less than average
Parts = average
Customer follow up = above average
To me it appears that Brian is making a real effort to make his customers happy. If you're looking for the lowest cost repair, this isn't the right place for you. Beware though because some low cost garages may be high risk. But if you want a reasonably priced repair, quality parts and work, backed by good customer follow up, I think it's worth giving Brian and this place a try. I have other work to be done there and will update this review.
