| - This is, by far THE WORST McDonald's in the ENTRIE franchise line and I don't even say that from a hateful place, I find it so frustrating that I can help but laugh most times. This McDonalds in known to taxi drivers around the city as "the worst McDonald's in Montréal" and they are not wrong. Moreover I live across the street and am in this location almost on a daily basis; I know most of the employees by first name and I STILL have maybe the most consistently experience at this restaurant. Hey his restaurant is SO bad that I know that there has been no effort to enforce quality control by the McDonalds franchise.
First, contrary to what is on the sign hung above the door, this location is NOT 24 hours, it does however haw a 24 hour DRIVE THROUGH, however on more than one occasion I've driven through to have someone tell me through the speaker "my staff has not shown up so I cannot make and food I'm sorry" which is one of those frustratingly hilarious moments that you have to ask yourself. How is this place still up and running?
The employees are not so much rude as separated by an invisible wall of non-service. Many people are leaning over the counter trying to get the attention of anyone who slips out from the kitchen long enough to be seen. This isn't so much a restaurant as a chow-line.
The meat is not cycled through on a timer like most locations they are left in the drawers until used, the fries are almost consistently cold unless I ask for a new batch (which i do in advance now) and any specialized order (no pickles) takes and extra 15 minutes. It's an especially infuriating feeling to watch those behind you in line get their food before you or to have to wait to get a cup for a drink (the cashier does not distribute the cup it's whomever collects the food)
To be fair I do have to give a certain amount of leeway to the employees, albeit not much. This location is often flooded with high school students that are simply looking for a place to hang out and frequently do not want to leave, which I understand can be frustrating to the staff. There I've done it that's about as much credit as I can give them.
Lastly I'll share my experience this morning at 5am getting breakfast. I pulled through the drive through and ordered a sausage egg mcmuffin (breakfast sandwich) and pulled up to the window and waited a good 20 minutes before there was any sign of life. I actually backed up to the speaker and asked if my food was being made to which I was answered "yes it's cool sir" when I got my food I was told hold on let me get your hot chocolate (not a coffee drinker) and waited another 10 minutes before he returned and handed me a cup and disappeared inside, I took a sip, popped the top of the cup and looked inside to find boiled milk, yes that's right, hot milk with no chocolate at all. I knocked on the window gently, then harder, then banged, eventually I simply called the store to have an employee tell me sorry we're closed. After interrupting with "it's me the guy at your drive through window" I had a different employee greet me to tell me that there were no workers and that she couldn't help me. When I tried to explain that I had my food but wanted salt, pepper, ketchup and a hit chocolate, she shut the door an disappeared. I pulled in at 4:30 and left at 5:07, this happened this morning.
Hilarious and appauling.
McDonald's, if you're reading this. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN OH MY GOODNESS
