| - I was so excited to try Citizen Public House. I ended up going there to celebrate my birthday with a couple of friends, though I felt like we left somewhat disappointed.
When we initially walked into the restaurant and the vibe is upbeat, trendy, but cozy. There were two very bubbly kids that were standing around chatting with each other and didn't notice us for a couple minutes. We didn't have reservations, so they said it would be 15-20 minutes, which was fine, but this was a Tuesday night and there were at least 7 open tables, some of which were never filled while we were there. They also seemed to seat one of their friends who didn't have reservations as we overheard. That was a little frustrating but I was still excited.
We sat down and our waitress was very friendly. She apologized for the wait and immediately took our drink order.
I tried the beef short ribs which I thought was good, though, very fatty and somewhat small portion for 31 dollars. My friend had the lamb burger which he said was good, but somewhat dry. Overall, it was a pretty good experience, the food made up for the rest of the experience and I will go back again to try more.
