  • It is in their mission statement as a company to "take care of members" which only comes after "obey the law" Costco is a wonderful company because they pay fair wages, have actual business ethics, and live and breathe exceptional member service. One reason Costco is a stellar company is the fact that they pair a fair, living wage resulting in great employees. Everyone from Taiwan to Hawaii can enjoy the same price for a hotdog soda combination for the same price as twenty years ago. Costco accepts almost anything back: empty bags of chips, partially used gift cars, even dead plants. Supposedly, members have been known to return dead palm trees they planted and bring the stump in and say, " we do not want the palm tree anymore." No questions are ever asked and they receive their refund almost automatically. Their employees also have pleasant attitudes. After all, it is drilled into their mind that their first job is member service. Some are of the thought that Costco is overpriced and it is ridiculous to have to pay to shop. Anything upsetting in the slightest is unlikely to happen at Costco because Costco has the greatest values morally and merchandise wise. Take a simple necessity for example like toilet paper or bottled water. Everyone needs it and will eventually use it so why not buy it in bulk at the greatest value? It would be a mistake to not join Costco Wholesale, it is clearly well worth it.
