  • This is a great shop. Recently, I had taken one of my vehicles to Payson on a camping trip. While going up and down the mountains, smoke started billowing from under the vehicle. I took it to a local shop called Coyote Auto and RV in Payson and they said that my transmission probably went out and that I'm probably looking at a $2000 repair job. (Even though I was able to drive my vehicle for several miles to bring it to their shop? Hmmm?). Anyway, to be safe and avoid possible further repairs I had my vehicle towed by AAA back down the mountain to Thunderbird Automotive Service whom I found on Mark Salem's website. I spoke with Gary who informed me upfront of the diagnostic fee, which I believe was $75.00. They kept my vehicle for a day and half which tells me they went through it thoroughly, and then I spoke with Tom who came back and said that they couldn't find anything wrong. I asked what I owed and he said "Don't worry about it. Since we couldn't find anything wrong, I'm not going to charge you. Just bring your vehicle back when something needs to be done and I'll take your money then." They immediately won my business there. You can be sure I will be taking both my vehicles to this shop for future repairs. Not only that, I've since recommended family and friends to take their vehicles here as well. In fact, I recently referred my in-laws here for a second opinion after they received an $1800.00 quote from Fletchers Tire and Auto Serivce. Thunderbird Automotive came back with a $900.00 repair quote and stated that some of the repairs that Fletchers said were needed were not needed. Not only that, they shuttled them home, so they would not have to wait around at their shop all day while they repairs were done. It's hard to find a good, honest auto shop these days. Now that I've found one I'll continue to give them my business until they give me a reason not to.
