  • I used to love the Bellagio. I was there the week it opened. If I ever got married again I wanted it to be there. From the water show to the sports book to the gaming tables, everything was so elegant and classy. The dealers are all pros and the waitresses are all models. Just an amazing place. Well. I went tonight and it soured me forever. I always gamble there, even when I'm not flush with cash. Sat down to play some 21 tonight, $15 minimum bet, pricey but not outrageous. Noticed blackjack only pays 6-5 instead of 3-2. I play a lot of Blackjack. I know how to play perfectly and don't mind losing according to the odds favoring the house. On multiple deck games, the average house advantage is around 0.5%. Lowering the blackjack payout to 6-5 raises the house advantage to almost 2%. Whether you realize it or not, that's a HUGE deal. Millions of $$ per year. For decades, Vegas has done just fine on a 0.5% advantage. I asked and was told that the $50 tables still pay 3-2. You know what? Fuck you, you greedy pricks. If you want to raise the table limits to make more $$, have at it. But you want to skew the percentages? Go fuck yourself. I made a few hundred there tonight in spite of your shitty table odds. Won't be back. Assholes.
