  • I was in Las Vegas for one night on my way back to Arizona. It was my friends first time in the city and I booked this hotel due to the location. We arrived around 4 pm on a Monday and was given a letter that stated they were fully committed for the night. They were trying to send me to a contracted hotel that was NOT to the same standards as theirs. It was also a cheaper hotel. They weren't going to refund my room either. Finally after an hour and a half they suddenly were able to find me a room. I even paid an extra 50 dollars to upgrade to a king size bed that was supposed to have a partial view of the Strip. I was told and assured it has the view. The only view I got was the parking garage. Did not get a view of the Strip at all. I was very upset given the fact that I had paid this extra money. I didn't feel like the hotel management or staff did ANYTHING to make up for the inconveniences. Also, I was NOT the only one they were trying to move to another hotel. For the amount I paid that night, I could have used to pay for a hotel on the strip. Also, when I checked in the MANAGER said that all I had to pay was for the upgrade fee. However, when I checked out the young lady at the front desk stated I still owed the resort fee. Well that would have been nice to know upon checking in since the manager said I only had to pay the 50 dollars to upgrade. The room was beautiful and clean but I am absolutely disappointed in the service I received. I come from a family who had managed hotels for the last 30 years. They were shocked that they didn't even try to waive the upgrade fee, resort fee, or even give me a buffet coupon. I don't look for free stuff but when a place of business royally screws up, they should correct the situation. I have trips planned to Las Vegas in the next couple months, but I am 100% certain that I will NEVER be returning to this hotel. I will be telling everyone I know the same thing. It's better to spend the extra money and stay at the Luxor or Excalibur. Absolutely disappointed in the Lucky Dragon in their poor service and the handling of this situation. The two stars is ONLY for the clean room.
