| - I WOULD GIVE THIS NO STARS IF I COULD.
I was supposed to move in a few weeks ago and it was a nightmare from day 1. First of all, l had called the office prior to see if I can change my move-in date from Sat to Sun because I'm from out of state and flights were cheaper to fly in Sunday. The rep l spoke to said she would speak to her supervisor and get back to me. Long story short after a few times of trying to reach the office, no one got back to me so I decided to just come on Sat.
Move-in day comes and l call the office to ask if l can come in, and they tell me they moved my appointment to Sunday! No one contacted me at all regarding changing my appointment despite knowing l had requested this because l was flying from out of state! They couldnt do anything for me as apparently my apartment wasnt cleaned yet and wouldn't be until Sunday morning. So l have to go out of pocket and get a hotel room for the night.
Sunday comes and l finally get into my unit. At night when l was moving in the rest of my stuff, a lot of things were broken or needed to be fixed in the unit:
- laundry closet door off the hinge
- stove light broken
- no screen on patio door
- dirty countertops
- rotting food and trash underneath sink
- ceiling leaks when you turn on the AC
and the best part...
- Surprise! There are ROACHES! A dozen came out from the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and boiler room within 30 minutes!
I have asthma and am extremely sensitive to allergens so moving into a roach-infested apartment was out of the question. When I spoke to management the next day about the infestation and not wanting to move in, the agent I have been dealing with said roaches are "common" in Vegas and there's no way l could break the lease. When my mother tried speaking to her further, she got a huge attitude literally told my mother to (and this is verbatim) "chill the fuck out." This is the kind of CUSTOMER SERVICE you will receive from this establishment!
I decided to begin legal action by sending a Habitability Violation letter (by law tenants have the right to withhold rent/break lease for violations like vermin/pest infestation) in attempt to break the lease. I was turned over to upper management who said she would speak to corporate, but I would most likely have to pay $1,700 for breaking the lease and then one month's rent $919 because I "didn't provide 30 days notice to end the lease." -- They were acting as if this was my fault that I cannot move in because my apartment is infested with roaches! On top of that, I had to stay at a hotel since day one because of this. Do they think I want to be inconvenienced like this?
Oh and one more thing, the last 5-star review here from earlier this month is from an employee- the same agent who told my mom to chill the fuck out! How nice of her to leave a fake review!
DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER LIVING HERE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR TENANTS, ONLY ABOUT MAKING MONEY!!! STAY AWAY. I'M GOING TO LEAVE FEEDBACK ON EVERY APARTMENT REVIEW SITE I CAN FIND AND REPORT THEM TO THE BBB!!!!!!!!
