| - This is going to be a long post because I've been dealing with this phone and this company for months now.
I've always known that once a screen cracks, there's a way higher chance of it happening again.
I thought my sony xperia was near indestructable so i left it without a case despite better reasoning. The screen cracked back in July and I searched all over town for somewhere that could do same-day repair. Not possible considering the fact that it's a rare phone, so i settled for a spot near home.
They charged me $100 and said it would be 3-5 days. Meanwhile, I used my backup phone. A week later, (roughly 7 days), i recieved a phone call. She said itd be about 10 days before they recieved the part. I fussed a little bit and then accepted.
I picked up the phone and the phone looked near new except for some dings around the edges. I was ecstatic.
One week later, screen goes black.
Terrified that it was going to be another few weeks, i went straight there and was relieved to find out they had ordered extra parts. They fixed it under warranty, no problem.
After this fix, i left for the east coast. I quickly noticed that the background of the screen had small permanent marks (like when u press lighlty on a computer screen). This didn't bother me enough to bother with it, but i felt that it was worth noting regarding the work that had been done.
Ok, fastforward to end of October. Now it's been a little over a month since it had been fixed.
Screen crack #2.
I crossed my fingers and hoped they would warranty it but knew it wouldn't be the case. I explained all the ridiculousness that i had dealt with and they offered me 10% off this time. So i payed the $93 and was on my way.
I ordered a good case off of amazon and used my back up phone until i recieved it.
A few days ago, the screen cracked again.
The phone had a screen protecter & a case on it. It cracked while it was in my purse.
Now, Im not entirely sure what has caused me such bad luck. And Im not sure whether Sony's phones are garbage once the screen cracks, or if the fixs were done poorly. I'm not going to use the devil phone anymore but i really wanted to try to sell it with a fresh screen.
No such luck. They won't warranty it. It hasnt been more than a month but they don't like the damage and say it doesn't qualify. After all the inconveniences, i requested for an exception. Nope, I can go in to speak to the manager when he's in but Im not sure if it's worth the effort.
Frustrated.
