Pepper is what's for dinner. So disappointed with the food after raving reviews. But most everything was so chock full of pepper it took away the taste of the dish. We are also a family who loves heat and well seasoned food so this took us back to experience all this pepper. The best thing we ate was the pork and beef burnt ends. Also, our server Heidi provided excellent service!
We first started with the nachos added beef brisket - it had way too much bbq sauce. Dinner consisted of - plate of 4 meats combo dinner for my husband and I (beef burnt ends, chopped pork, and double ribs) with 2 sides (mac-n-cheese and collard greens). Burnt ends amazing, chopped pork full of pepper, ribs not tender... the sides were nothing to talk about at all. Our teen boys chose Pork Burnt Ends with cream corn - Burnt ends were wonderful but the cream corn was full of black pepper which takes away the taste of the corn. The other meal was the TX Brisket sandwich - it was more bread than meat.
Maybe our BBQ standards are too high from having some of the best bbq in Kansas City but this was just average at best.
