Dishonest sales tactics. Very disappointed. I received a call from a representative who invited me to come to Markham Acura to service my 2017 TLX. Over the phone, the rep told me a $25 voucher had been sent to me to use for any servicing visit - a nice gesture of good faith (so I thought). When I received the voucher I went for an oil change (since I was in the area I decided to check them out). When it was time to pay they told me the $25 discount didn't apply because the fund needed to be "applied to my account" which could not be done because the person responsible for this was not available. The rep in the dealership repeatedly told me how funds needed to be applied to the account and at this point my account was "empty". I told them I didn't want to concern myself with the inner workings of how vouchers (discount offers) are honored. I just asked them to consider the optics of the situation - that a first-time customer was invited under a promise they could not keep.
I don't care for the discount (it's only $25) but I'm disappointed at their inability to honor their offers. I did not press the issue because I was more concerned about the principal than the discount. I requested to pay my $90 oil change fee and leave.
The long and the short is that I was LURED to this dealership with an false promise. I'm wary to go there with something more substantive like repairs or even the purchase of a vehicle. They told me the discount could be used on my next visit (once the "funds were applied"). Fool me once. There won't be another visit from me.
