Beautiful evening for dinner on the patio at Cafe ZuZu. And a really good value considering it was AZ Restaurant Week.
Half price bottle of champagne got us off to a great start. First courses -- Wagyu Beef was perfectly tender and flavorful. The roasted acorn squash soup was excellent as well, with the cinnamon toasted marshmallows an awesome creative twist.
We both had the mustard crusted NY strip -- tender and tasty, but the star for me was the truffle mashed potatoes.
The Decadent Chocolate Torte was in fact decadent, an excellent end to an excellent meal.
My only suggestion is they need to up their game on the dinner rolls, but that was a minor infraction. All in all, a beautiful and romantic setting for a terrific meal.
