  • I took two classes here on a business trip recently. I am only reviewing for the classes I took. Cleveland Yoga is all about Baptiste yoga, which is a form of heated power vinyasa. The classes are heated to around 93 degrees, and then, after a warmup, you ostensibly go through a flow of asanas, with a few balancing postures thrown in, followed by a warm down and savasana. I personally practice a style of yoga that is even more "power" and "flow" than Baptiste yoga--my studio was started by a guy who was a student of Baron Baptiste, so this heavily influenced my view of Cleveland Yoga. Both classes I took were 6am classes, and one of them was average at best. Half the class revolved around innumerable Verabhadrasana A/B sequences--I swear I did 30 chatarungas in a row...the rest did not have a good flow to it and I left with sore arms and not much sweat. The class I took the next day was much better and the flow really flowed. I honestly think one of the teachers the first day was just really tired. The classes were crowded, but Yoga is about community and I found everyone to be respectful and focused on their own practice. There were all different levels of students in the class as well, which was really cool and heartening. The studio itself was very clean and zen, and I liked the friendliness of the front desk staff. Pricing seemed very fair compared to other studios I have visited nationally. Overall I would go back and try out a few more instructors. A-OK.
