| - I'm very disappointed in the show of customer service tonight. My boyfriend, brother and I tried using a gift card in order to come to the show tonight, for the amount of $75, well over the cost of our movie which was $36. As soon as we walked in the door a nice young woman greeted us and asked if we were purchasing our tickets or picking them up, and we were purchasing so we went to the front of the register. That's when things went down hill, for some reason the card we were using was saying it was "expired" which the girl explained doesn't happen and she's never seen a card do.
After a couple of minutes she calls her manager over, and this is when I expected the problem to get taken care of, the manager would take care of us. To no avail, the manager had never seen such a thing either and asked if my brother had a receipt, for the gift card. He did but it was at home, but even if he had not had the receipt, that shouldn't have been an issue. The manager then continued to say that there was nothing he could do unless we were able to bring the receipt to him. As we were already there and the movie was going to be starting soon, we just paid cash because we did not want to miss the start of the film because of this issue.
I work in the service industry, I know how a guest should be taken care of and this is not it. They offered apologies but had no solution to our issue in that moment. If we had not brought other methods to pay we would not have been able to watch the film and the nights plans would have had to have been cancelled. At the very least I was expecting some sort of offer to reimburse us for tonight's payment if we were to bring the receipt in, but was given no such offer.
The movie was good and we enjoyed our time from then on out. The two gentlemen at the concession stands were very friendly and professional. Bathrooms were very nice and well kept as was the entire theater. I just was hoping for more of an effort from the manager to fix an issue or wrongdoing that was not our fault.
