| - Non-campus associated goers beware, this location, as to be expected, is frequently visited by undergrads, grad students, and general campus-related beverage and scone connoisseurs alike. The lines during the day, during the regular school year can be LONG. However, I've always had friendly service at this Peet's.
The prices aren't great, but there is a punchcard, and if you buy up to 10 drinks (or 9?), you get one free. This free drink, though, can only be plain coffee or tea. The extra flavor and espresso shots are extra. I've also never had a pastry or snack here that wasn't fresh. If you're looking for just some food from this stand, go a few stores down and *for the most part* the same food is available in the Badger Market, and there either isn't a line or it moves quicker than Peet's.
One particularly nice experience I had here the other night was when I asked for a hot chocolate made with soy. The barista asked if I was lactose-sensitive because she wanted to make sure I knew about the dairy in the chocolate used to make the drink. That was definitely a thoughtful touch.
Because the seating is in the Union, it can be sparse, but boy howdy, sitting by the fireplace during the off hours is great.
