rev:text	Before I begin, allow me to state for the record that my Vegas standards are most likely VERY different from most out-of-towners'. I'm a Sinatra-Deano-Sammy kinda Vegas girl... I cheapen at everything else just to be able to double down on my $25 blackjack bets... I'm EXCESSIVELY open-minded (sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse) about my surroundings... and, finally, I figure that as long as I have a clean and decent place to put my head at night, then I'm a-ok. That all being said, I absolutely LOVE the Tropicana. Plus infinity stars for still being somewhat conveniently located yet not overrun by zillions of people. Infinity plus one for the awesome pool area; I didn't have the balls to try the swim-up black jack, but every single staff member we encountered was EXTREMELY friendly and accommodating. (The only downside to our entire weekend was that my brother's homebrew shirt was totally jacked from our pool chairs. But that's ok.) The whole hotel (restaurants, shady-looking sports book, table area, slots, gift shops, hallways, and whatnot) does look slightly run down. I do agree with everybody who has said at least that much. But I can't say it any better than Michael C. -- "this is a classic casino." And UGH! I did lose a ton (a relative ton... definitely triple figures, but nothing to have to take out a second mortgage on or anything) of money, but I do have to say that my brother and I sat at the tables with some of the funniest and most fun-loving patrons (and even some dealers!) that we'd ever encountered in our years of making weekends out of Vegas. Even the lounge stage acts were entertaining and fun! All in all our stay at the Tropicana was quite a positive experience. Easy check in, easy check out -- just be aware that there is a "resort fee" of $7.99 per day that they tack on. Totally worth it -- and, if you book online through a website like Expedia or Orbitz or whatever, you can get a REALLY cheap rate. I wish I could go on and on and on about this place, but, so many Yelp Vegas reviews to go before I pass out (just got home!), so little time!
