  • Vegas is full of buffets. They probably have more buffets in one square mile than the entire state of North Dakota. (Not that North Dakota is that populous, but you get my point.) And I have been to tons of buffets in and outside of Vegas. I say that to say that we were pleasantly surprised by the Bayside Buffet at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. What a nice variety of food and the quality of the food was good. (How many places have beef oxtails on their buffet lines? Not many unless you're in Jamaica or a place that specializes in Caribbean food.) Everything was fresh and our servers took care of us and never let our glasses go lacking. I've been to much more expensive buffets and I can't say that they had food that had the same quality or wait staff that took care of us better. And the food was tasty and catered to a variety of tastes. (E.g., Chinese, Mexican, etc...) Everything that we had was tasty and FRESH. Did I say fresh? Yes, because I think that with the volume of food served, buffet lines can get grimy after a certain amount of time and the food isn't refreshed as often as it should be. Not here! Not this time! I still can't think of what my favorite food was that I tasted, but the oxtails, rice and crab legs stand out. (I know most of the buffets serve crab legs and shrimp, but theirs were very fresh tasting.) I would definitely recommend this buffet based upon the quality and variety of the food, price and cleanliness.
