  • I had a great blow out done here by Joani for my bridal shower, so I asked if she could touch up the color of my hair before my wedding. I had had a great highlight done before my shower by a licensed stylist and I wanted a touch up to cover the roots before my wedding. I have dirty blonde hair and the light golden highlights were gorgeous that were done prior to my shower. Joani said she could match my roots to the rest of my hair no problem, so I scheduled an appointment (since the guy who did it before was so far away). We had discussed matching the roots to the rest of my hair. I left there in shock. Although she said some of the dark would wash out in a week... my wedding was 4 days away. I just couldn't believe what she had done to my hair that I thought maybe it was the lighting since she seemed so happy with it. I paid and even tipped highly and walked out. I came home and looked at my hair and broke into tears. My beautiful golden blonde hair was an ugly dark ashy blonde with a tint of green. My fiancĂ© came home soon after and was disgusted with what she did to my hair... so much so he immediately got in his car and raced over there to complain. They only offered $30 cash back (most of that was the tip) and some solution to help wash it out, which didn't really do anything. Salon Fair claimed it was a "miscommunication". HA!!! What was hard to understand about matching my roots to the rest of my hair color?!?! And who would ever pay to have their hair colored that awful color?!?! They actually had the nerve to defend what they did and said it isn't possible to color my hair the color I wanted. I wouldn't dare go back there again, so I consulted with Custom Hair Design in Sagamore Hills and they said Joani has no business doing color. She must have used an ash blonde in my hair which should NEVER be used for my hair color... they said that is for red heads. I couldn't get an appointment with them with only a couple days before my wedding, so I drove all the way back to the guy who did my highlights for my shower. He couldn't believe what had been done to the beautiful color he put in my hair just a month and half prior. My pictures of my hair after going to Salon Fair are now the BEFORE pictures in his portfolio book and glad to say the AFTER pictures are wonderful! He was able to fix my hair and give me back my beautiful golden blonde 2 days before my wedding. BEWARE of Salon Fair... DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR COLORED THERE!! Not only did she not have a clue what she was doing, but she defended what she did... destroying my hair 4 days before my wedding. If she thinks giving me grayish dark blonde hair with green tints is a job well done... THAT IS SCARY!!!!
