Julian Serrano was a fantastic restaurant experience - delicious and lots of fun.
Julian Serrano is located in the Aria near the entrance to the Crystals Mall near the pub. It's an open area restaurant so shouldn't be too hard to miss. It meshes with the rest of Aria fairly well and is colorful and nice. It also has terrific service all-around and isn't too busy in the middle of the afternoon (on a Saturday no less). They also apparently have happy hour but seemingly only in the week.
Serrano is a tapas restaurant with lots of small and bigger items to try. It has much of the typical fare you expect from a tapas restaurant with their own little twists. We just went for the small items this time around (which cost around +$10 per dish) although the bigger dishes like paella are available and do take longer to arrive. Here's a list of what we had:
-Stuffed Dates: One of my favorite - although still not the best dates tapas dish I had - it's a strong contender with its strong flavor profile and great sauce.
-Sweet potato pure + skewers - Not a bad dish although it did taste a little light even with the skewer (which was a pepper/sausage - one of the spicier things on the menu).
-Squid ink rice: Ate a little bit of this and was in love. Great look and great taste. Another favorite dish.
-Mashed potatoes/sausage: Delicious dish which is simple and clean.
-Ceviche: Simply okay - don't think it's the best dish you can order.
-Tuna belly: Delicious stuff here - fresh taste and delicious sides.
Also - they have a cocktail/wine list - chose the cab which was decent.
Julian Serrano is a fun little tapas restaurant that is more than just a creative face - it's tasty too with great flavors. Can't wait to try again.
