  • After a long day of sightseeing and attempting to try as many of the breweries in Montreal as possible we walked here from the old port area. This brew house was recommended to us by another breweries bartender while talking to him and letting him in on our plan. I am always the first to ask bartenders what their favorite spots are, because generally they know what they are talking about. EVERYONE we spoke to INSISTED we had to stop for at least one beer here. We were not disappointed at all upon our arrival, the exterior of the building is pretty nondescript, it could have been a house, and might actually have been at one time. The interior of the space is basically one large open room, with lots of windows flanking the exterior side of the building facing a nice park. The beer list is written on a chalkboard opposite the bar, which boasts a larger number than expected due to seeing much larger breweries with a less impressive list than those of their counterparts. Anyhow, the beers were unfamiliar to me so I asked the bartender for his favorite and I was pleasantly surprised and sad all at once. I was surprised that the beer was unlike any other I'd ever had, full of flavor, nice balance, and yet complex, MTL ingredients I guess. I was sad once I realized that the company and it's beers are rare stateside. I was going to need to make a friend that would start up a beer sharing relationship so I could have the beer shipped to me when it would otherwise be impossible. Next time I am in MTL and/or anyone I know mentions going to MTL I will recommend this brewery over all others, Thanks for a great experience DIEU du Ciel!
