| - I work for a shipping store in California and a couple of days ago I had a customer who wanted to ship a package to a family member near this store but was apprehensive about shipping to her residence because of recent thefts in the area. It was suggested we ship the package to a local FedEx store, So I called this location and asked if they could accept a package for my customer, they said yes absolutely, they would even hold the parcel for five business days after acceptance, they said they could do this for my customer EVEN though it would be coming via UPS and not FedEx(which an employee named Sean or Shawn ASSURED me would be acceptable).
So we shipped the package, and after tracking it there, we saw that it was delivered successfully in the morning(even signed for), held all day, and then rejected in the evening which sent the package all the way back here to CA. When we realized what had happened, I called back to ask the same questions about receiving UPS packages and received the same response, "Yes we will accept UPS packages". When my customer called after I did she was told they would not accept the same package. We had two different employees telling us completely opposite answers. The worst part of it all is that UPS was willing to deliver a package to their competing store, but FedEx was unwilling to even call our phone numbers and let us know what was going on. This whole experience was handled very unprofessionally, and FedEx is unwilling to help resolve the issue with my customer who is now out 40$ because the employees at this FedEx store have no idea what they are doing. BTW, The UPS store will gladly accept FedEx packages, do your business there instead.
