| - I am reviewing this from an objective standpoint, based on my observations and general experiences from my recent visit.
I have to make this delineation because I am not someone that typical sets foot in a casino.
I don't smoke (I can't stand the smell of smoke), nor do I drink. And I certainly don't gamble in the Casino sense of the word.
However, we wanted to celebrate at Shula's Steakhouse, and it happens to be inside the Wild Horse Pass.
Immediately, as you walk in (just like the Talking Stick), you will be greeted with the stench of smoke. However, if this doesn't bother you and you make it past the front entrance. You will be great with a marvelous equine sculpture in a beautiful lobby. No, this is not a Las Vegas style lobby like the Bellagio or the Wynn. But, it's good enough for Arizona.
As you make your way through the lounge area, you will notice several exhibits of various guitars that were once utilized by some very famous people. Then, you will find yourself in the gaming area. It's well laid out, and has the typical mixture of slots, card games, and other games of chance.
If you decide to go up the escalator to the upper level. You will find Shula's (our ultimate destination, this evening), and Chrome Nightclub.
We wandered through the hallways, and found ourselves in a patio just outside the entrance to the office suites. This provide us a nearly smoke free experience since we were now outside on a balcony. And we had a great view of the entrance, the grounds, and the pool.
It was a nice evening, and we opted to wait out here and just hang out.
Overall, depending on what suits you, this isn't that bad of a destination. If Casino type nightlife is your thing. At least, you don't have to drive or fly all the way to Las Vegas to get a similar experience.
