If you are in Montreal visiting or live here I highly suggest that you stop by Abra- Cadabra for the largest and most inexpensive selection of leathergoods including backpacks schoolbags belts-
Most are gently used but show absolutely no signs of wear. I made the mistake of passing by the window and seeing the bag of my dreams and thinking oh it must be a $250 bag- then when I got around to stopping in the store I found out it was sold for $59. I really lost out.
The shopkeeper Tony is extremely accommodating and if you are paying cash he will give you a discount if you ask-
Tony travels around the world looking for unique leather goods.
He goes to Bali Thailand Ecuador and many other places to find deals on these leathergoods that he carries.
Personally I could've bought a lot more than I did on my first visit. But I have to try to exercise some sort of control. He also sells a wide selection of I guess you would call it hippy clothing. And has some beautiful jewelry on display at reasonable prices also. He told me in the winter he stocks many pairs of different boots-
He had at least 50 leatherback packs of all sizes when I was there for $60 and under many of them made in Italy. You can't beat that!!
This has to be the most unique store in Montreal, and it's right on Mount Royal ave in the Plateau area nestled in between a plethora of unique and unusual shops.
Not to be missed!!!
