This is a tar rabble company. The have no intention of serving customers or fulfilling obligation. This is the facts, you decide.
I was broken down, parked with blinkers on, off the road as fare off on the shoulder of the road as possible, without rolling down the mountain. I was waiting for AAA to arrive. I saw in my rear view mirror head lights swerving back and forth, it was hit.
The nightmare begins. I was asked to send information to Safeway. I did so, several times. They did not receive anything until I sent it by registered mail, then they got it. Each time I called, the agent was not in, on vacation, out sick, or with a client, I also had the wrong agent. My case had been given to someone else. I thin in all I had about 5 different agents. At a year I was becoming upset. Made further efforts to see what was the mater.
Problem was the ambulance service. I found out which service and gave them the information. About 7 or 8 days before the end of the 2 yrs they finely settle. Informing me if I do not sign, they are no obligated to do anything because of the statutes of limitations.
I signed. Now it is August 2015, accident Jan. 2013. I have Medicare and AARP. They were to be paid back. I gave them, at the time I signed the papers, all the information, including the amount to pay Medicare. They were surprised I paid the bills, at the time. Somehow they thought everyone will wait for them to pay up. I received a letter from Medicare that I ow them, pay or they will turn it over in the IRS for collections.
It is clear, that Safeway is not a good company. I am on SS and am 68 yrs old. I have lived in pain for months with a concussion, neck had headaches. Doctors and chiropractors only time could take care of it. They gave me $1,200.00 for it. Those I talked to told me to expect figures between $5,000 $10,000 from their experience. I have no idea of their situation so I really do not know if that amount is reliable, so I had no expectation. You can not show pain, you have only my word. Now I can only assume, by their action on inaction I was low balled. I have never never sued anyone, or ever had to hirer a lawyer except for wills, and 1 devours.
Advise, don't be like me... Get a lawyer.
I gave State Farm. I never been hit or in an accident. My dad was, he had State from, from 1932, his first car. In the late 60's a car ran a red light hitting his car. He was driving a Ford, State Farm, gave him a new Continental, because, he had never filed a cline for anything, he was a good customer, his records indicated he usually owned 2 Continents ( his and his wife). This is clearly unusual to be so generous for them, so they said, but to repeat, almost 40 yrs of insurance for all his cars, and all his insurance needs. They said it was their way of saying thank you.
