This is actually a cute little venue that makes for a nice downtown wedding. The issue here is Stacy Faherty. She is the event manager and is one of the most highly difficult people that I've ever encountered in this business. As a bridesmaid, I was aware of time and time again where she would say one thing and then turn around and change her mind. Very little was put into writing and countless things were subjectively vetoed or approved based on what Stacy "felt was right" at the time. The bride was constantly stressed almost the entire time of planning and felt that the whole event was tainted by the memory of such a horrible lead up time.
If you use their own "approved list" catering, I'm sure the story might be different. However, the bride wanted to use an outside caterer (which happened to also be the one that I work for). Stacy make it exceedingly clear (to my company and to the bride) that even though we have been in business for almost 15 years, she did not approve of us; going so far as to threaten ONE WEEK before the wedding to not allow our company to cater at all. Her main issue was that she required 3 servers even though this was not in the contract and it was never mentioned initially when they paid extra in order to use an outside caterer. She ended up "compromising" on two, but not without the added stress and headache for the bride.
The 2 stars are for the staff that were friendly, helpful and all around made the day of experience very pleasant. I wouldn't give Stacy any stars at all. If you do choose this venue, my main advice: Get it in writing.
