| - I used this company, in May of this year (2016) and I have mixed feelings about them. Yes, they quoted me a price, which changed, but so did my circumstances. Instead of moving to a first floor apartment, I ended up having to move to a second floor apartment. If memory serves, they quoted me a price for three hours, and I ended up needing 4.5 hrs. You gotta add in the heat factor, not to mention I had a lotta stuff.
I was a little perturbed that they arrived earlier, than agreed upon, and began charging me as soon as they walked in the door. They said they wanted to get a feel of how much they were moving. Well, they couldn't hardly get into my apartment, because I stacked every box I could in the living room and down my hallway. I arranged boxes for moving up and out. There was very little walking room left in my apartment. I didn't know that I would have to pay them for walking around and looking. I thought the job was for moving, transporting and unloading. Being friendly and talkative is one thing, but it also adds to the clock, which I stayed conscious of. Sure I was friendly, but I also got up and began moving boxes, hoping they'd get the hint that chat time is over. They assured me I didn't have to move a thing, but as they cleared the living room, I moved the bedroom boxes up front to the living room. I kept packing the living room with boxes, furniture, etc., until my apartment was empty. Maybe they charted their progress by seeing rooms cleared. I chart it by hearing echos. I believe in "doing it moving!" The office had assured me that I need not worry about packing my large, heavy mirrors or pictures as they were probably more experienced at doing it. The moving guys did take extra time, special wrapping my picture frames and sewing machine cabinet. 95% of my items were packed, when they arrived, but I had a lot of odds and ends left over. I stuffed these items into trash cans, luggage, wardrobe boxes and plastic bags. They graciously took it all.
I'm so glad that these guys were young and strong! There's no way I could've moved myself, like I've done in the past. What a sad way to have to separate reality from fiction about one's aging process.
I would consider using this company again.
