  • I have a vintage car. A Senior Citizen, shall we say. Her name is LaTonya and I love her. I'm dead serious too. She is 17 years old and has 250,000 miles. I walk into most car places and they want to rip every cent I have from my wallet. So I go get my oil changed recently and the guy doing it FREAKS OUT. Makes me come look at my tires while they have her up in the air. He wants to show me the silver belt thing showing through the tires. oops. He tells me I desperately need new tires. Now. Do not pass go, go straight to get tires somewhere. So I headed here as it's really close and he really freaked me out. The guy at Discount Tire really helped me out and 'got' that I don't have a Ferrari, I have a vintage vehicle, that while I want to be safe and keep her going as long as possible; I in no way want to drop $700 on tires. Dumb. He picked out cost efficient tires for LaTonya AND sent me over to their recommended auto repair place near them because I needed to have something looked at as a second opinion on a repair I need done. The place they sent me to was just as fantastic. Plus, these guys were super speedy! and while I didn't get chastised about how bald my old tires were, they politely tried to explain how bad they were when I came in. Oops.
