First time we bought a home and got to plan it out / pick options. The sales process and option choice process were fantastic. However, the build process and warranty work did not meet our expectations. The end product is mostly okay but the finishing and attention to detail were not at the level they promise and "sell" to you during the buying process. Ultimately, the expected quality for the price paid just isn't there. Issue 1: The subcons they use don't care about doing quality work (probably an issue across all builders unless you're going custom). Issue 2: They didn't hire enough construction project managers in our neighborhood to keep up with the number of homes under construction. Our construction PM hardly inspected any of the work done by the subcons, and we had to call him about issues we'd find when looking at the construction on the weekends. Then he'd make excuses like, "oh, that's in the pantry, no one is ever going to see that." Drove us crazy. Would give them one star but the initial process was great.
