  • Had George Brazil out today to replace a water heater they installed 5 years ago - still under warranty. I was stunned when they quoted a price over $800. I protested saying it was still under warranty. The tech explained that in the five years I'd had the heater the standards had changed a little - not my fault - and the new heaters were a little taller and a little wider so there would be an additional $150 charge. But it's under warranty. Ahh says the tech, our warrantry is only a year - the manufacturers is the 6 years...but the new heater would have a new 6 year warranty. Probably as worthless as this one is. When I complained about this being a rip off, the tech refused to do the work because I was unhappy...too darn right I;m unhappy. Companies should have enough integrity to stand by their work and warranties without stiffing the customers. Wish I could give them zero stars.
